McGarry is back on the bike!!
We just received word that Kelly McGarry is back on the bike after his collar bone injury that took him out at Red Bull Joyride. Welcome back bro! Here’s what he was up to during his healing process…
When ya can’t ride your bikes… you have to find other shizzle to do. Me and a couple of my house mates hiked up to Wedge lake… which was a pretty gnarly work out! 2.5 hours straight up! We swam in the glacier lake which was frickin cold but awesome too! – McGazza

Summary from the Gravity Casting Couch Contest Winner
The Gravity Casting Couch contest winner Lasse Jensen (Denmark) gave us a summary of his experience riding/shooting with Eric Porter, Kelly McGarry and Harookz. Thanks to Jon Kennedy at Diamondback for shooting the behind the scenes photos. Stay tuned to our Twitter, Facebook and blog to see the photos shot by Harookz!

I was so exited about winning the Gravity Casting Couch contest. Usually I don’t win anything so I was super stoked about winning this contest. I had already ridden with Kelly and Porter at Camp of Champions, so we didn’t need to waste any time getting to know each other. When I found out that I won the sweet Gravity components I swapped my old beat handlebar with my new 800mm Gravity Light bars right away. After swapping the parts I went for a quick run on the mountain before the photoshoot, so I could get a feel of the new bars. I quickly got used to the width and sweep of the bars and was ready to rip with Kelly and Porter!
Shooting with Harookz was a huge experience. We talked about what runs I liked the best on the mountain, and decided that the we were going to shoot on Ninja Cougar, Fade to Black and A-line. Riding and shooting with the guys was super chill and fun. Lots of laughs and good times. We started out shooting some corners on Ninja to start out easy, then rode a couple of Fade to Black runs where we shot the step-up step-down. The A-line shoots were properly my favorites. Shooting the rockdrop, the S-corner and the wallride. Kelly and Porter are super nice guys. They told me a bit about the photoshoots they normally do, and other things like timing it just right when more than one rider is in the shot. Harookz is just an awesome guy. Super funny, and good at making it easy to relax and just focus on having fun, during a shoot!
I had a blast that day, and can’t thank the guys at Gravity enough for giving me such an awesome time!
Thanks guys!
Cheers from Denmark!
- Lasse Jensen

MS-Evil/Gravity Team 1st at Nordketten Pro DH
On the way from La Bresse/ FRA to the UCI worldcup season finals in Val Di Sole/ ITA, the MS-Evil/Gravity team stopped in Innsbruck to race the “Nordketten Pro Downhill” invitational race in Innsbruck/ Austria. The infamous trail down the “Nordkette” is well known in the European freeride scene and no one really thought that it’s possible to hold a race with international top stars on this track:
Length: 4.2 km
Altitude difference: 1000 meters
Track record: 10:31 minutes
The competition was a team event where 3 team riders and one wildcard rider form a squad join forces. One rider from each team were assigned to a start group and got points for their final positions. In the end all those points got accounted for the final team standings.
The MS-Evil/Gravity team won the Nodketten Pro Downhill race with 75 points and 18 points ahead of Alpine Commencal. Furthermore Brook MacDonald won the individual ranking with a new track record of 9:26:34 and Filip Polc got 2nd in the individual ranking. Congrats guys!!
